Rated 4 out of 5 by dmw17OR from Looks nice and was exact fit drop in replacement This is a review of the Frigidaire Professional 30' Stainless Steel Gas Cooktop - FPGC3077RS. We purchased from online certified re-seller to get best deal we could. This replaced a 15 year old similar branded 5-burner Cooktop which was working okay could use replacing-some burners didn't ignite as well and the gas output/BTU seemed to have gone down. We wanted to replace with a DROP IN REPLACEMENT so we wouldn't have to do ANY modifications to the countertop or fan (See picture). After doing research I found the best/exact replacement would be a Frigidaire Pro or Gallery or alternative store branded (which Frigidaire makes) cooktop.
We decided to buy during the Black Friday timeframe to get the best deal and to go with Frigidaire because the style is little a little nicer than the alternative store branded. Installation was a little tough for a couple reasons: 1) There isn't much room for the clamps which hold the stovetop to the counter. I had to cut these back with a hacksaw in order to fit. 2) The cooktop had to be perfect to not interfere with the raising and lowering of the exhaust fan which abuts the cooktop. I did have to file/sand/bend a small corner on the exhaust fan which resolved the issue.
Without doing that the lip of the fan would catch on the underside of the cooktop. We are talking about 1mm or less of adjustment. Once installed the next stop is to install the gasline. This required two trips to the Home improvement warehouse to get supplies.
I bought a gas line and adapter. NOTE: The companies who make the gas lines/adapters say they are one time use only. I recommend you buy the adapter/kit (usually $20-$50) from whomever you buy this stovetop from to avoid running to the store in attempt to find the right adapters and gas lines. There are some connections that require the sealant and some are compression fit. It isn't too hard to install.
Just double check for leaks with fluid provided and your nose. The stovetop looks great and works well. I do have a couple minuses and that is why I've given it 4 stars. 1) After cooking something I noticed some stains on the center burner metal. 2) Sometimes we miss the ignite on the gas. Perhaps this could be improved. 3) Would like to have knobs light up like some competitors.
At least would be nice feature to know which burners ON. 4) I do have to go back and adjust the burners a little because on the lowest setting sometimes the flame will go out. One other tip. Be careful with seasoning the pan that comes with this. I used too much oil and ruined the pan and had to throw it out.
LIGHTLY oil and remove excess before baking. Rated 4 out of 5 by BWH873 from Loved it in the store Bought at Lowe's. Had to be ordered in. Picked up and took home, installed, then opened the grates to find the center one broke in half. Called customer service, they put a new one in the mail. It arrived broke.

The knobs are metal so they won't break like the plastic ones do. No issues with the install or operation. Fits and functions like it should.
