The download on CCO is just upgrade. But put in an edelivery put order and you can have a bootable version in a few hours, albeit you will still need the latest SU probably. After download you can burn ISO to physical media (DVD) or you can directly mount iso if using VMware. The ISO and/or DVD is not bootable and only can be used for up-gradation of existing CUCM. Bootable media comes with purchase of new CUCM servers only. There are unofficial ways that you can make 8.6 iso bootable at your own risk and use it on VMware. You will need following to things to make iso bootable. Redhat linux v5 (32 bit) iso 3. Ultra ISO software (or any other iso software you prefer) Open the redhat iso in ultra iso and extract the boot file and save it.
Now load the cucm iso in ultra iso. Insert the save bootable file in cucm iso and save the cucm iso. Now mount or burn the iso and make a clean install of cucm.

In an emergency after the RMA is created then the bootable ISO can be posted for you to download. The ISO and/or DVD is not bootable and only can be used for up-gradation of existing CUCM. Bootable media comes with purchase of new CUCM servers only. There are unofficial ways that you can make 8.6 iso bootable at your own risk and use it on VMware.
You will need following to things to make iso bootable. Redhat linux v5 (32 bit) iso 3.
Ultra ISO software (or any other iso software you prefer) Open the redhat iso in ultra iso and extract the boot file and save it. Now load the cucm iso in ultra iso. Insert the save bootable file in cucm iso and save the cucm iso. Now mount or burn the iso and make a clean install of cucm. Not bootable but other than that it is the full thing. If you need bootable then you have to use PUT. The one I got from PUT recently was 8.6(2a).
